Alzheimer’s Disease: Family and Caregiver Support

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, over 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, and many millions more people are affected as their family members, caregivers and loved ones. Where Can I Connect with Others Affected by Alzheimer’s?

There are local and regional chapters for support throughout the United States. The Conroe area is served by the Houston and Southeast Texas chapter, which is a rich source of information and support.

Monthly Support Group Meetings: First Fridays of Each Month

The Houston and Southwest Chapter has a meeting that welcomes family members, loved ones and caregivers who are affected by Alzheimer’s in others. These meetings allow time to form friendships, share about experiences, and learn from one another, as well as hear suggestions, strategies, tips and more from professionals who are trained and experienced in dealing with Alzheimer’s Disease.

When and Where is The Monthly Support Meeting?

The next First Friday meeting is February 7, 2020. The meetings are from 10:00-11:30 am, in the Meals on Wheels Building, 1202 Candy Cane Lane, Conroe, TX 7730. Note: Meetings may be rescheduled occasionally due to weather or other circumstances.
