Celebrate the Moon Landing: 50 Years Ago

Fifty years ago might seem like the distant past, or maybe it’s recently enough that you remember watching Armstrong and Aldrin’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing as a child, teen or adult. Whatever your age, there’s no doubt it was an historic moment, worthy of an anniversary celebration. With Houston as our near neighbor, the city of Conroe, TX is doing things up right, and celebrating the moon landing with fun events and a remarkable greeting from the International Space Station.

 

When Is The Anniversary Being Celebrated?

Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969, and the Conroe celebration will take place on July 20, 2019. Festivities will be going on between 7pm and 10 pm, with events scheduled at specific times throughout the evening.

Come to Heritage Place Park, at 500 Metcalf Street in Conroe, TX.

Is There A Charge to Attend?

This event is free and open to everyone. There will be food trucks and refreshments available for purchase, You do not need a reservation: just come and have fun!

Did I Hear “Costume Contest”?

Yes! Don your best space-themed regalia and arrive by 7:30 to participate. At 8:15 pm, a free movie in the park feature will begin.
