Smile Care With Implants: Still 2 Times, 2 Minutes, 2 Visits

Looking out on the horizon as you think about dental implants for your smile, there are some major thoughts that cross your mind. In addition to simply wondering how your smile will look, whether the implants will function as wonderfully as you heard (don’t worry, they will), and more, the question of maintenance is sure to pop up. Is it still going to be the same? Will your smile care change once you have even one implant? Our Conroe, TX team is happy to inform you that things are going to remain just about the way they are now. Let’s review what that means with an easy way to remember the details (keep the number 2 in mind!).

2 Brushings A Day

We hope you find relief and happiness in the fact that this part of your dental care is not going to change and it likely never will. The suggestion that comes from our team, as well as from the American Dental Association (ADA) to brush your teeth two times a day stands, whether you have a mouth that includes only natural teeth, one that includes implants and restorations, or one that is composed solely of prosthetics. Always remember that your goal is brushing in the morning and once more at night (and don’t forget to floss during one of your brushings). Easy!

2 Minutes Each Brushing Session

Again, remember to keep the number “2” in mind when you’re brushing your teeth. Just like before you had dental implants, your brushing routine is still going to look extremely familiar because it isn’t really going to change! You’ve got to brush for two minutes during your morning dental hygiene session. Then, in the evening when you brush again, make this two minutes as well. When you use a timer, it helps you ensure that you’re not accidentally rushing it and that you’re not brushing for far too long, so we often suggest that everyone consider timed dental hygiene for effective care.

2 Annual Visits

One more time, what did we say? Your smile care is going to look the same even with dental implants! Yet another measure of proof is the fact that we would still love to see you just twice each year for the opportunity to examine your smile and provide a professional cleaning.
