When you have dental implants, you’re told in the beginning that care is going to pretty much be the same as it has always been for your entire life, even before implants. That’s because the implants are meant to act just like your teeth! You need to keep them clean, as well as your gums, etc., for them to remain successful. So, would you say you’re doing an excellent job at keeping up with the details or do you think you have, perhaps, let your dental care slide just a bit? We’re happy to check in as a means of helping you see you’re on track (or helping you get back on track!).
Are You Brushing (Correctly)?
Do you know without a doubt that you’re brushing your smile correctly? If you’re sort of doing an okay job, this might not be so wonderful for your teeth, gums, and dental implants. When unsure, ask us for a demonstration! We encourage you to make sure you’re hitting all the major requirements, which include:
- Brushing for two minutes twice (once in the morning and again in the evening)
- Brushing your whole smile
- Brushing along your gumline, too
Are You Flossing (As Suggested)?
Along the same lines as our brushing inquiry, we remind you that if you’re flossing your smile as we suggest, then you’re doing your part to maintain your dental implants. Keep the following in mind:
- Floss your whole smile
- Floss daily
- Use floss that you find easy to use
Do We See You Frequently Enough?
When did we see you for your last checkup and cleaning? If it was longer than six months ago, you’re not coming in enough! Make those visits every six months, so your dental implants and natural tissues remain healthy and safe.
